David F. Antezana, M.D.
Dr. Antezana joined Microneurosurgical Consultants, P.C. in 2002 from Johns Hopkins Hospital. Following his neurosurgical training, he completed a fellowship in spinal reconstructive surgery in the department of Orthopedic surgery, which was also at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Minnesota and his Bachelors of Biomedical Engineering from the Catholic University of America.
Dr. Antezana is the Providence Health & Services’ lead investigator in an NIH sponsored trial on intracranial intraventricular hemorrhages. He is a leader on the board of directors of NOC2, a national network consortium of spinal surgeons dedicated to research, including surgical outcomes and neuromonitoring.

Martin Baggenstos, M.D.
Dr. Baggenstos is a native of Montana who received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and subsequently his Doctorate of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts in 2004. Dr. Baggenstos then completed his general surgery internship and neurosurgical training at George Washington University. He also received fellowship training in clinical oncology at the National Institutes of Health. In 2011, Dr. Baggenstos joined Microneurosurgical Consultants, P.C.
Among his many publications, Dr. Baggenstos has also received multiple clinical honors, including the Integra Foundation Award and Synthes Skull Base Surgery Award for his research in neuro-oncology. He specializes in the treatment of cranial, skull base and spine disorders, with an emphasis on minimally invasive surgical techniques. His professional affiliations include memberships in the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurological Surgery.
Vivek Deshmukh, M.D. FACS
Dr. Deshmukh received his Doctorate of Medicine with Highest Honors from the University of Florida in 1994. After completing fellowships at the Barrow Neurological Institute, including advanced work in Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery, Dr. Deshmukh became the Director of Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. In September of 2010, Dr. Deshmukh and his family moved to Portland, Oregon and joined Microneurosurgical Consultants, P.C.
Dr. Deshmukh’s presentations and publications include work in the management of intracranial aneurysms, minimally invasive approaches to the skull base, lumbar spinal fixation, vascular considerations in Neuro-otologic Surgery, atypical cavernous malformations, and pre-operative embolization of spinal tumors, among others. He also had two patent submissions in 2007 in collaboration with Catholic Healthcare West in the field of endovascular neurosurgery and minimally invasive spine surgery.
Pankaj Gore, M.D.
Dr. Gore joined Microneurosurgical Consultants, P.C. in August of 2008. Prior to this, he received his Doctorate of Medicine from Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri in 2001 and went on to complete fellowships in Complex Spine and Spinal Trauma, and Cerebrovascular and Skull-base Neurosurgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute. During this fellowship he was involved in developing innovative endoscopic neurosurgical approaches to the skull base.
Along with being a part of the Microneurosurgical Consultants, P.C. team, Dr, Gore is also a co-medical director at the Providence Brain Institute. His specialties include skull base surgery, cerebrovascular neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, minimally invasive neurosurgery, and complex spine surgery.
Oisin R. O’Neill, M.D.
Dr. O’Neill is a board certified neurosurgeon in the United States as well as in the European Union. He completed his medical training at the Royal College of Surgeons in 1985 and his neurosurgery training started in Richmond and Beaumont hospitals in Dublin, Ireland. In 1988, Dr. O’Neill and his family immigrated to the United States where he received neurosurgery training at the University of Washington and at Oregon Health & Sciences University. In 1991 he was examined and admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Dr. O’Neill was on the faculty at Oregon Health & Sciences University prior to joining Microneurosurgical Consultants, P.C. in 1995. He has been published extensively and has been actively involved in clinical research throughout his career. His particular interests are in the treatment if brain tumors, stereotactic radiosurgery, and in the surgical treatment of the vascular pathology of the brain
Michael A. Sandquist, M.D.
Dr. Sandquist received his medical degree from the University of New Mexico. He began his residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of New Mexico, and completed his training at Oregon Health & Sciences University where he became Chief Resident. In 2004 Dr. Sandquist joined Microneurosurgical Consultants, P.C.
Dr. Sandquist’s professional organizations include the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgery and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, In his practice he emphasizes his interest in brain and spine tumors, degenerative spine disease, cerebrovascular diseases, functional and epilepsy surgery, and peripheral nerve surgery.
